MacBook Pro 15-Inch "Core i7" 2.2 Late 2011 - A1286

I dont normally take these on.

  1. Bought with No Harddrive / No DVD installers

  2. SSD installed by others...

  3. Boots to folder "?"

  4. Internet Recovery will NOT provide Disk Utility - Reboots on progress to folder "?"

  5. No Drive/s detected at all. - Checked Flex for damage.

  6. USB bootable Installer not detected. - USB ports checked with another device

Now its my belief that SSD's and Macbooks are about as compatible as a divorced couple.

So I removed the SSD and with a bit of trickery (own method) prepped the SSD to be...well more compatible.

Installed back in to Macbook and booted to Internet Recovery

Disk Utility now available - Formatted and created partition. (it was now able to detect the SSD):)

Installed the OSX to the SSD.

Mac OSX Lion Installed.

Next was to start the upgrades as the customer needed to use specific software that need 10.13.6 OSX and AppStore access via A/ID

Upgraded to EL Capitan.

Then Upgraded to High Sierra.

Job done.

SSD's dont get on well with macbooks AT FIRST and can hang , white screen, blue screen, cause booting issues and display issues.

Regards Dee

I never want to hear that CHIME again......
